Fuji Aloha CF1 / SST Build...

The Fuji Aloha CF1 is Fuji’s previous top end time trial and triathlon bike. It also doubles as the newly introduced SST road bike. Both bikes share the same geometry but interestingly enough have been marketed as both a time trial bike and a super aero road bike. The bikes are set with fairly common road bike geometry with a 73 degree head-tube and a 73.5 degree seat-tube angles. Both bikes can also accept Fuji’s carbon setforwad (yielding a 78degree seatube) seatpost. In other words a SST or CF-1 frameset can built up into just about any type of racing bike! The following is a custom build I created based off of a 2008 Fuji CF-1 frame-set size 56cm.

My most recent road bike build includes:
-Reynolds Assault Carbon Wheels
-Zipp Carbon Cranks w/ American Classic BB
-3T Stem and Bar
-Sram Red: Shifters, Front Derailleur
-Time RSX Ti Carbon Pedals
-Vittoria Open Corsa CX Tires
-Tioga Spyder Saddle
-Zero Gravity Red Devil Special Edition Negative G – road caliper brakes by Ciamillo

Okhwan Yoon...

Today we got a very interesting visit from Okhwan Yoon, a man cycling around the world. He was passing through town on his Trek road bike and happened upon one of our regulars, who brought him by the shop. A very nice soft spoken man, with a hell of a story. Here is a article written on him by a San Diego newspaper.

Okhwan Yoon departed South Korea seven years ago with his bike, yearning to see the world and discover why it’s so violent.

His education thus far: Yoon has been struck six times by cars, kidnapped in Sudan, held up in Portugal, attacked by knife twice and robbed of cameras five times.

Gainesville Bike Culture...

Gainesville, FL has a rich bicycle culture. Being on the cutting edge as far as social and ecological movements, Gainesville has many resources available to its riders. While true cyclists will always want more bike lanes and/or segregated bike paths; Gainesville is doing its best to accommodate its cyclists and grow with them.

The Gainesville also offers many trails to ride, both on and off road. Public trails include, Loblloly trails, Creekside trails, Alligator alley, Sweetwater branch. There are many other trails to ride, both public and private, marked an unmarked. Please use discretion, common sense and safety when visiting a trail system for the first time.

Many local businesses cater to cyclist, allowing for secure close bike parking and offering food and beverage choices cyclist will enjoy. UF and Shands also embrace bicycles as transportation.
