Specialized Developed their BG FIT (Body Geometry Fit Integration Technology) system with the help of Dr. Andy Pruitt Ed.D., PA of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. Fittings via this system are only available at Specialized dealers and Super Cool is the exclusive Specialized dealer in Gainesville!

This system works in three parts:

Pre-interview – Before the fitting you’re interviewed to get your injury history and what your riding history/goals are to guide the fitting to you.

Flexibility Assessment – This portion gets measurements of the flexion and lengths of all your major body parts that contribute to the quality of your fit and ride.

Side View Assesment – From the side your riding position is evaluated to get the most neutral position. It gets your position comfortable, yet powerful, through adjustments to your seat height, handlebar height, stem adjustment and foot positioning.

Front View Assesment – From the front your shoulder hip and knee alignment is checked. This provides you with the most power and consistent power delivery over your pedal srtoke. Shoe placement and you saddle squareness are parts of this step.

Follow-up – a Week later the fitting technician will call you to discuss the fit and any concerns you may have. If there is any need for changes you discuss this with the technician.

You can watch this Specialized video to find out more:

There is also much more videos and testimonials available via the Specialized site for the BG FIT system:

So Lance Armstrong is back in the professional peloton, kinda… Armstrong recently came out of retirement and has re-started his professional cycling career in an effort to spread cancer awareness around the world. He has participated in in four major races since his come back. The first two races he participated in were the Tour Down Under, a ProTour stage race hosted in Australia and the Tour of California. Armstrong placed 29th in the Tour Down Under, his first since coming out retirement from 2005. The next race on Lance’s schedule was the Tour of California, which due to his participation had record attendance with over a million people lining the roads to catch a glimpse of the 7 time Tour winner. Lance placed 7th overall in the race and helped his team-mate Levi Leipheimer win the overall for the second year in a row. The next race Armstrong participated in was Milan-Sanremo a 300 kilometer (over 180 miles!) bicycle race in the northern part of Italy. Armstrong suffered with the pace of the race at his first major European race and was dropped on the major climb of the day and finished with the second group over 8 minutes back! The last time Lance had ridden ‘Sanremo was in 2002 when he placed 44th. The last race Armstrong has taken part in was the first stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon, a race in which he was invited to ride by his team-mate and Tour de France winner Alberto Contador. Towards the end of the first stage there was a crash involving over 30 riders, Armstrong went down hard landing on his head and his shoulder. The end result was Lance being transported out by ambulance, he would later be diagnosed with a broken collar bone. Lance will be out of competition for 4 to 6 weeks while his injury heals. The next races he will contest include the Tour of Italy and the Tour de France. The injury is the first of a kind for Armstrong but one of the most common injuries for cyclists.
